Parking Information

As the conference is meeting on Saturday and Sunday, guests may park in any spot labeled staff, commuter, or any valid permit. There are a few "staff" parking spots on the street just outside the Old Main Academic Building and two parking lots just down the road from the building. On this Parking Map, we have circled the Old Main Academic Building in red and several of the nearest parking locations in blue. 

Hotel Information

We have reserved blocks of rooms at the following four hotels in the Starkville area.

Hilton Garden Inn: Ten king bed rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn are on reserve for $145.00 per night. The Hilton Garden Inn is a 5 minute drive to Mississippi State University. To reserve a room at the Hilton Garden Inn, please use this direct booking link. This block of rooms will be released on April 22, 2022 (CST).

Hampton Inn and Suites: Ten king bed rooms and 5 double bed rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites are on reserve for $172.00 per night. The Hampton Inn and Suites is a 5 minute drive to Mississippi State University. To reserve a room at the Hampton Inn and Suites, please use this direct booking link. This block of rooms will be released on April 5, 2022 (CST).

The Comfort Suites: Twenty king bed rooms at the Comfort Suites Starkville are on reserve for $139.00 per night. This hotel offers a free hot breakfast. The Comfort Suites is located adjacent to Mississippi State University. To reserve a room at the Comfort Suites, please use this direct booking link. This block of rooms will be released on April 5, 2022 (CST).

The Holiday Inn Express: Ten king bed rooms and ten queen bed rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are on reserve for $106.70 per night. This hotel offers a free hot breakfast. The Holiday Inn Express is a 10 minute drive to Mississippi State University. To reserve a room at the Holiday Inn Express, please call (662)324-0076 and request the rate for the MSU Math Conference block. This block of rooms will be released on April 21, 2022 (CST).

Special Request: The Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit (S.M.A.R.T.) shuttle service will pick-up at the GTR airport and drop you directly at your hotel and will pick you up from your hotel or campus and take you to the airport for free. The shuttle service has requested the following flight and hotel information so as to offer the appropriate services to our guests. We are therefore requesting that all out of town and in-person participants please email the Conference Organizers at iccmae@math.msstate.edu and let us know the following information: times of flights and drop-off (hotel) and pick-up (campus or hotel) locations. 

Travel Information

By Air: Starkville, MS is located about 20 miles west of the Golden Triangle Regional Airport (GTR). The Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit (S.M.A.R.T.) shuttle service will pick-up at the GTR airport and drop you directly at your hotel and will pick you up from your hotel or campus and take you to the airport for free.

By Car: Starkville, MS is located approximately 85 miles west of Tuscaloosa, AL along Highway 82 and approximately 130 miles northeast of Jackson, MS along Highway 25. Starkville, MS is also easily reached from Memphis, TN by driving south on Interstate 55 and then east along Highway 82. 

Restaurants and Local Attractions

Starkville, MS offers several unique and delicious restaurants and a small but vibrant downtown area. You can find out more at Visit Starkville. Mississippi State University is home to the Cullis & Gladys Wade Clock Museum which showcases an extensive collection of mostly American clocks and watches dating as far back as the early 1700s. Additionally, the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is located only 16 miles south of campus and offers several hiking trails and wildlife viewing areas.
